From the depths of Mid Canterbury - Fly Fishing from Methven

Methven is centrally located to a wealth of fly fishing, the below rivers and lakes are mostly within a day trip range from town. There are Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout and Salmon within the area. This list is not a complete list and information is of a general nature as fisheries do change from year to year, and naming places only drives pressure which then detracts from the experience, so you'll still need to do your home work, which after all is part of the fun. Google maps is a useful tool of course. And if you want the best experience and expert hands on advice, hiring a good local guide is one way to ensure success.
