2.4mm = #16 - #14
3.2mm = #14 - #12
3.8mm = #12 - #10
4.8mm = #08 - #06
Note that depending on the hook type you may need to force the bead over the barb, this can normally be achieve by pushing it with your thumb nail.

I prefer brass to tungsten - I prefer brass to tungsten, because if you need it to be heavier just use a couple of turns of lead substitute wire. Sometimes it pays to have different colour beads from the usual gold colour on your nymphs, so also look at tying a few using black, copper and other colours
