Here are 2 selections of popular flies for the Tongariro River and surrounding areas. These packs will give you a starting point to allow you to be successful on the water, from here you'll develop your own personal preferences. The first pack is an economy pack of the bear essentials while the second is a serious fly pack that includes larger numbers of each fly. There are quite a few tungsten nymphs included as the extra weight is needed in this larger river. Good Luck!!
