Product Description

From Manic: Customizable is the best way to describe this new addition to the Airflo family of fly lines. Every fly rod and angler combination has an optimal individual feel, and the new Streamer Max with its level sinking tip section allows you to tune it to your style and needs by cutting it to the optimal length. We recommend cutting it six inches at a time until you have your perfect fit.

Built on our famous Power Core it consists of a level T-series sink tip that transitions to an intermediate belly section and is backed up by a floating ridged running line. The best of all worlds rolled into one killer sink tip fly line. Looped in the back of the line for easy connection to your backing.

These are a great advancement on Teeny's original T Series lines. Firstly the Airflo heads sink faster than anything on the market, their slim profile means even in fast current they get down quick. At the back of the head the intermediate section is a lot more durable than anything else I've seen, what's more it makes casting a lot smoother. Then the floating running line is great for deep wading as you don't need to drag the running line to the surface before you make a cast. I've added these into the New Zealand range as I think these are the best lines for fishing big wetflies in our rivers. From big rivers such as the Tongariro for rainbows or the Canterbury rivers for sea run browns, then these are the lines. All you need to do is match them up to your rod weight. In Simple terms the 190 grain is for a #6 rod, the 225 grain is for a #7 rod etc etc.

I keep a reel with one of these in my bag when I go back country fishing. I normally nymph my way up the river for the day and then on my way back to the car switch to the depthfinder and swing woolly buggers through the deeper holes on my way's surprising to see what you've missed for the day.

Incredibly versatile sink tip - I've spent a couple of years fishing these lines in a few different weights, some cut back and some at full length, and they're an amazingly versatile easy-to-cast shooting head that'll have you shelving your other sinkers, and leaving your floating line on the shelf until deep in the summer. The front level section is a fast sinker that lets you be a lot more accurate with your 'across and down' and start casting right into the swing zone rather than starting a long and painful 'across' to time your sink and swing to hit the holding water. Once you've found fish sitting in a tail-out or along the edge of a drop-off you can put your streamer right to them and have it get down and level right away. If you're used to fishing weighted or bead-head streamers on slower sinkers, go with an unweighted streamer on a loop knot with these lines and watch your hits go way up. The level sink section, even when trimmed way down, keeps your streamer swimming naturally all the way to the rod tip. Ditch your traditional sink methods, start to watch how this line makes the fly behave and respond accordingly. There's a huge amount of innovative ways you can use these lines that brings a lot of fun back to sub-surface fishing, and a crazy amount of success.
