Grizzel Hackle tips

Well marked Grizzel

The Adams Irresistible again originates from the States. It works very well in New Zealand and imitates Cicada's.

Instructions:
  1. Wrap the hook shank in tying tread then tie in some Deer Hair for the tail.

  2. Apply glue to the shank, this will later help hold the deer hair body and make the fly more durable.

  3. Start at the tail end and working forward tie in a good clump of deer hair, experiment to see how much you need.

  4.  Fold the hair back and tie in another clump until you reach 3/4 the way up the hook shank.

  5. It's easiest to tie it off here and to take it from the vice to trim deer hair to shape.

  6.  Tie in the two grizzly hackle tips for wings, about the same length as the body.

  7. Then tie a grizzly hackle and wrap forward to the eye of the hook.

  8. Trim up , whip finish, and glue head.
