Dear Steve,

Well I finally bit the bullet and paid the extra to get what most forums etc seem to class as a top vice - The Peak. I have been dogged by every mate for spending so much on a vice as most of them have one for which they paid under $100 for. However, they are all very envious now. The Peak is solid, lovely to use, simple - just everything you would expect for something not "Chinese" made. The rotary feature is awesome and while still new at fly tying myself, have already used this feature quite a bit. So much talk is over how the jaws hold the hook - these jaws are excellent - easily adjustable and you know it has hold of the hook - A pack of wild horses aren't moving that hook until I release it. Bought the saltwater jaws and already have used these for the larger sized hooks. If you remember I upgraded to the brass screw kit - in reflection wasn't required as the delrin seems to be more than adequate, but I do think the brass looks so much nicer (all important I know)! Without going on and on would like to thank you again for all your advice and time, and I am so pleased with the end result - a vice that is a pleasure to use and will last me a lifetime. Thank you.

Regards

Paul Sharp

All components are high quality stainless steel, hardened tool steel, delrin, brass, and aluminum (the jaw tube link arm).

The powder coated steel base provides a stable work platform as well as a convenient rounded edge pocket for beads, hooks, etc.

A brass tipped set screw and provided Allen wrench allow the vise to break down flat for travel.

The hardened jaws can hold hooks from 02 streamers down to #24 midges.

The positive stop cam action allows repeatable gripping from the first fly to the last.

Additional features include a height and length adjustable bobbin rest, a quick change jaw, and infinitely adjustable friction knob.

An optional saltwater or midge jaw can replace the standard jaw in under two minutes.
