The Cicada is a great summertime dry. From about January till the first frost in March these guys are active and provide a descent size meal to the trout. There are different varieties, from the smaller South Island Tussock Cicadas to the large dark Olive specimens found in forested area. So when the Cicada's are chirping try throwing these on the water and watch as browns will literally charge the fly in their haste to grab it, heart stopping stuff!
