I love fishing the willow grub, that such an insignificant little fly can be such a good fish catcher I think has something to do with it.

Fishing the Willow Grub: With such a small fly it can be difficult to know when the fish has taken it. So what I do is to use it on a dropper with and Adams Parachute, except that I tie the willow grub on first and the Adams is attached to a dropper tied off the bend of the Willow Grubs hook. Doing it this way helps to float the Willow Grub, watch very closely, and strike at any disturbance close to where you think the grub is. The fish will readily take them under water, so be ready for that and hopefully you'll enjoy the willow grubbers too
