Just a few pics from the last few days on the Upper Whanganui. Went in Friday morning and the fishing was good, nice spotting opportunities and willing fish rising to big dries. Then a big thunderstorm rolled in, heard it coming for an hour or so then it settled in overhead while we ran for cover from the lightening. Ended up hustling back to the cabin to avoid getting caught out and deal to a couple of coldies and fling some arrows around. Awoke to a very coloured river the next day so took our time until the sun came out and managed to get onto some good fish on the edges and further upriver. Sunday we searched up a trib, I had a case of the dropsies with a few coming off early and a bust off but got onto a few more on the main river which had cleared nicely. Spotted a couple of really sizable browns much bigger than anything we'd caught and gave it a good nudge with plenty of drifts checked out but in hindsight it seemed like the were feeding just below the surface. If we didn't have to pack up and head out I would probably still be there throwing the flybox at them. Really good times, love that spot.

My good friend Tim took this photo of me, we had a hard day on the river, the first catch for me of the day.

I did not take this photo but a friend did, I am the one on trying to find some trout on the left side of the bank.

Nice photos Robert. That second photo looks like paradise! Here are a few others from those couple of days with you. I'll never forget that monster you hooked on the stonefly nymph on the last day...
