RISE - Fly Fishing Film Festival 2012
Coming Soon....
In its 7th year, RISE is on a mission to celebrate the diverse world of fly fishing, to connect anglers through shared experience, and to create public awareness of fly fishing's new dynamic emergence. The festival allows the fishing community to share their passion for the sport by attending film screenings across the country. It's the biggest kick-off to the fishing season there is!
Gin-Clear Media, in association with Flylife, presents the best adventure fly fishing films of 2012 in a big screen extravaganza. The mission of the festival is to inspire audiences with epic adventures, strong stories and big fish in pristine environments. Check out www.gin-clear.com for all tour information, videos, photos and more.
Festival Feature Films
PREDATOR Gin-Clear Media's PREDATOR is the feature film of the festival. Fly fishermen have always lusted after big fish, those large predators that dominate the rivers, lakes and oceans in which they preside. PREDATOR explores the globe for the largest and most powerful fish that can be taken with a fly rod.
These large predators employ all sorts of techniques to maximise their chance of catching prey. Some, like the queenfish, use pure speed to outrun and crush their prey in the surface film. Pike lay in ambush, ready to explode on their prey in the chalkstreams of England. Others, like the mighty barramundi of Australia’s North, use brute power to get a feed. Regardless of the species, a film about fishing for the world’s greatest predators is guaranteed to be a visual extravaganza.
THE ARCTIC Beattie Outdoor Productions traveled north, way north, to fish some of the most remote areas in North America. Watch as they travel across the Arctic looking for giant char, trout, pike and more.
SIPPING DRY There are plenty of addictions to get hooked on in the world of fly fishing. One of the most consuming is the obsession with the dry fly, which explains why anglers travel the globe in search of epic hatches and large trout rising on the surface. "Sipping Dry" takes you to a place many refer to as the "dry fly capital of the world"--the upper Missouri River near Craig, Montana.
HATCH A global adventure documenting the world's best insect hatches and the amazing fishing that accompanies them. Narrated by Greg French. Gin-Clear Media.
MORE FILMS TO BE ADDED TO THE LINE UP SOON

I've got this horrible feeling I might be out of town for work that week! If not it'd be good to catch up and have a beer with you Fraser and others from here.

Oooo! Hawkes Bay. It's been a while since it's come this way. Last year I travelled down to Palmy to see the festival. I was literally minutes away from that huge slip that came down and is STILL blocking the Manawatu gorge.
