Hey guys, thought I'd make myself known around here 
I'm just getting into flyfishing. I was keen to give it a go when I was a kid, I'd tie my own "flies" even, but never had anyone to go with, as dad was only keen on salt water, so I thought I'd give it another crack now.
So far I've bought a toolkit from Steve, as well as some materials to make up some green beetles and some willow grubs, as they seem to be some of the common flies used in the area I'll eventually be fishing (waikato district). I'll post some pics when I've made a few, if they aren't too bad 
I'm in the process of saving up for a rod, ideally a 5 or 6 weight, any suggestions for a combo under $200?
