My latest fad... foam This is a flying ant with a poly yarn sighter which doubles as a wing, while the real wings are made with swiss straw. They look great in the water, but unfortunately dont last long

sorry got it sorted now. Stole the main design from garth but this is my first foam body fly. It caught 3 bows and 4 browns in the first 2 days of trial. certainly does the trick.

Tied up some emergers for the first time the other weekend
simple deer hair emerders along the top, very poor Mike Wilkinsons lifejacket emergers on the right and sugar lump emergers on the left by Davie McPhail liked learning the dubbing loop for the sugarlumps, great technique

Wacker, another you might like is Roman Moser's Balloon Caddis. Dry/emerger - whatever. It uses dubbing, foam and deer hair. Your orange foam would work a treat.

Wacker ... Go to the Flyswap 5 late summer - pics. There is a pic there of a Balloon caddis I use a lot. The yellow seems a good color for the foam and it also makes for a good indicator fly as well at times.
