Hey mate
We are on holiday from 9th July for 3 weeks. May pay to check the schools in the North Island though as we changed our dates this year for the Rugby World Cup. Now the damn thing isn't even coming to ChCh!

Let me know when you decide on dates. I would be interested in making the journey if you'd like some company in June.

Im going down between semesters at uni. I still work fulltime but im taking a break for a few days. My last exam is June 17 then don't start back until july 18. Im going to play the dates by air and run for the best window of weather.. Would be wicked to spend a day/couple of hours on the river with some of you guys. Even if it's just a pint an a brag somewhere in the evening.

Yell out if you get down there and your plans turn to S**T on the river..(weather wise) I Dont mind dragging the boat down the road to flick a fly on the lake.

Cheers man that would be really good of ya. I used to do alot of that around the tt mouth with my old man. I may just take you up on that if it's necessary. Payment in beer sound ok? As a side note has anyone stayed at the sportsmans lodge in turangi before? That's where I was looking at staying and just curious if its a good home base.

Haven't stayed there but it has a reasonable rep. It is almost right on SH1 (ie road noise) but is handy to some good fishing. Tongariro River Motel is ok too. Older decor but cosy and Ross is very helpful with fishing tips.

Ditto with the TRM plus Ross has a FFF guy from aus staying there long term at the moment so you might even be able to con him into giving you a free lesson.
