Upgraded Fly rod packages
The weather's still having a big impact on the
fishing, it's been a few seasons since we've had a run of Nor Wester's like this,
hopefully it'll start to settle down as summer approaches. Still there's
been some good fishing, and the fish I've seen are in good nick. Winter
floods have rearranged the furniture in many of our local rivers, makes that
first visit interesting, like visiting a new river. But having said that
I've noticed there has been quite a bit of river works having been done,
willows pushed back away from stream banks, machinery in the water, bits
straightened up....I find it very frustrating as much of it seems to have
little
purpose. Does this happen in your areas or is it a Canterbury thing?
DryLine Waders
Mel's been busy adding a new range of
waders. These ones are from local Christchurch company DryLine and they offer a made to
measure service as well as the standard sizes. The
made 2 measure are great for the website, takes away the problem of
'are they going to fit' We have a good selection of their
products from
Breathable to
Neoprene, chest to hips. There are plenty of options to choose
from, 3 colours, 3 thickness of
neoprene, an extreme model, knee protectors, wading socks etc. It's great to be able to offer NZ made products
and DryLine do make good quality products backed with a lifetime warranty on
workmanship and a 1 year warranty on materials. And the company are very
good to work with so I can happily recommend these product to you.
New to Fly Fishing?
After the previous newsletter I received
several queries from those new to fly fishing asking about what different
things where for, leaders, tippets etc so I've put together a page that
gives a guide to setting up a fly rod and explains what the different bits
are for and how they fit together. The knots to use and general info to get
you started. So if this info is useful to you click here to
read more.

Website: On occasions the site slows
down, this is often because of loads on the lines and there's not much we
can do about it. Though it usually seems to be short lived
and if you check back, often it'll by back up to
speed.
